Introduction
Through globalisation, the world is getting smaller. Distance boundaries have been overridden, with virtually every location in the world being attainable - and in ever shorter times. Mental boundaries are increasingly shaken, with virtually every culture reachable. People travel and exchange, leave and return, adapt or reject. The definitions of a (world)citizen are constantly redefined.
The aim of this project is to explore some of those definitions. Through a "visual dialogue", Art & Design students located in 5 different universities around the world (Geneva, Cape Town, Shanghai, Sydney and New York) are invited to exchange point of views on the theme:
MY HOME IS MYSELF
In these frenetic times, where does one personally stand? How does one define himself? His roots, his identity, his home?
Because images speak a thousand words, the chosen "universal language" will be that of photography.
